I love that you were able to recognize that you were rigid in your routines and as efficient as you had ever been, but still felt lifeless.

I was traveling last year for an extended period and I always felt guilty not being productive. I felt the need to have plans and know what I was doing. I was always thinking about the next thing. But the best days were when I stopped looking ahead and tried to be as present as possible and just let the day flow based on how I was feeling. When I got out of my head and let my intuition guide me.

Routines are so important, but we can’t live fully until space for spontaneity is built in alongside those routines. Spontaneity as a routine! Very thought provoking!

I adore this reflection especially thinking about the best moments of my travel being those completely unplanned.

you’re so right — routines give us something to fall back on but life is in those spontaneous moments

As someone who thrives on routine and loves life's simpler aspects, I find that sticking too rigidly to the script can be draining. We often forget to make time for ourselves. This post really resonated with me!

ah my reply didn’t post!

I completely agree! I love having that little bit of fluidity that makes days memorable and less monotonous

I packed my social calendar with such care, each and every outing was planned at least a week in advance.

One day I realized I had agreed to go to a gig and bought tickets weeks in advance and now I felt obligated to keep up with my ✨plans✨. I was using my free time as efficiently as possible, but failed to take into account how I might feel on certain days. It gave me no wiggle room, no opportunity to follow my instincts and respect my body.

Spontaneity allows us to follow our intuition.

I know exactly what you mean! It can be overwhelming to have every moment booked.

Definitely a lover of freedom and spontaneity you mention 🙂‍↕️
